There is a 5 a.m. even in not so sunny Santa Barbara. This is what our new airport (SBA) looks at that hour. The nice thing is that you can get there 30 minutes early for the flight, which we did, and still have to wait to get on the plane. Now that there is jet service to Los Angeles (LAX) it's a great alternative to not having to drive for 2 hours to LA, and then wait for another 2 hours at the security checkpoint.
I am on my way, at the moment at 39,000 feet somewhere above Pennsylvania. Should be landing at JFK in less than an hour to change planes for Milano. Gotta get use to the european city names and spellings.
